Spots for our two free performances of Godspell are filling up! We'd love to have you but we want to be prepared for everyone! RSVP by emailing [email protected] to reserve your free seats. This includes volunteers who will be seated for the show, family of cast members, etc :) If you haven't RSVP'd yet and you're free either night-- Friday has more availability than Thursday. Thank you! You are going to love the show, and most importantly, the story it tells.
Today’s featured Godspell cast member is Brooke Coulter ! What is the token that Jesus gives you during the show, and what does it mean to you personally? My token is a wireless microphone. Ever since I was a little girl I have been singing and it has become a major part of my life. Getting to be able to share in this gift with others is a joy I can't truly describe. On another note, when I was little, this kind of microphone was my favorite singer, Britney Spears', microphone of choice at all her concerts so it also brings an element of nostalgia to me.
Pardon our dust! We’ve got a couple of exciting renovations going on this week... our organ is being worked on in the sanctuary, and the men’s restroom in the Education building is being re-done!
This past weekend the United Methodist Women hosted their annual Fashion Show/Luncheon! Thanks to all the helpers and the UMW for making this such a wonderful event!
In case you missed the quartet today in Traditional ! Thanks to our special musical guests!

Skycrest's new Welcome Statement !
Don't forget during this Lenten Season, we are supporting Heifer International. Their Mission is to end poverty and hunger while caring for Earth! Donation boxes are available in the Fellowship Hall or in the Narthex in the Sanctuary!
Today’s featured Godspell cast member is Bethany Sharon Moore What is the token that Jesus gives you in the show, and what does it mean to you personally? My token is an astronaut rubber duck that I have named Major Tom. My character in the show is often seen as being slow, however I see them as more childlike (hence the toy), with a sense of wonder and pure joy at the things they are learning from Jesus and their companions. Space has always been a point of absolute fascination for me, and I have found that I feel closest to God when I am gazing into that infinite tapestry of stars that is the universe, and I long to explore its great mysteries.
Today’s featured Godspell cast member is April Trimble What is the token that Jesus gives you in the show, and what does it mean to you personally? My token is a studded rainbow bracelet. It symbolizes the large significance of Pride in my life and how quirky I can be. It reminds me to never be ashamed of who I am and to never hide my true self, no matter what anyone thinks. I try to show my quirks and the things that make me unique and remind me to appreciate the great things I have in my life.
We’ve got some great stuff coming up this week: The Men’s group is meeting at Lenny’s tomorrow at 7am! We’ve got the Running Group on Thursday at 6:30pm and the UMW Fashion Show/Luncheon is on Saturday! If you’re interested in joining a bible study, we have some of those during the week as well! Volunteering today at our neighborhood public school, Skycrest Elementary School!
Today’s Godspell cast member highlight is Roberta Clune What is the token that Jesus gives to you in the show and how does it relate to you personally? My token is an Amethyst stone. It is my birthstone & the color purple is used in the Christian church to represent purity, clarity, and cleansing; three nouns of which I consistently make use. Throughout my life I have been faced with moments of discipline to be mindful of what God expects of me and sometimes I fail. What I can count on is God's forgiveness and renewal. Thank you to my Mom for your unwaivering faith and example and nurturing my relationship with God throughout my years.
Join us tonight for Skycrest Running Group at 6:30pm for a 1-3 mile group walk or run!
Today’s Godspell cast member is Joe Stillwell What is the token that Jesus gives you in the show and how does it relate to you personally? My token is Several keychains each representing a different part of me. The Incredible Hulk; years of fat jokes and suppressing emotions has left me angry while I fight to be calm. The Millennium Falcon because I’m not afraid to dream big. LEGO Darth Vader because we are both fathers and flawed. (but it’s LEGO so I don’t take myself too seriously) A Small dark side light saber because it acknowledges the hurt and pain I carry but is small enough that it doesn’t consume me. And finally, the LEGO movie for my kids and their sense of fun.
Today’s cast member is Matthew Melenas who plays the role of John/Judas What is your token and how does it relate to you personally? John/Judas = JJ JJ's token from Jesus is a guitar strap. Music is an important and integral part of JJ's life, and the guitar is the manifestation of this passion. The guitar strap from Jesus is what makes the instrument complete and comfortable, and this represents the relationship between Jesus and JJ as well. In JJ's sermons, he references the coming of one who is "mightier than I" and who will "baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire" and that is what the design on the strap represents. This is not only important to my character in the show but also to me personally because of the importance of music in my life.

This video will be shown at our Charge Conference tonight. We were asked to show some of our "ministry highlights" this year. These two friends came to Skycrest via our monthly outreach dinner, got involved, became part of our church family, and now they lead a bus ministry to bring others in need to church! We'd call that a ministry highlight!
